Here, there and everywhere…

Here, there and everywhere…

Thursday June 17 was a red letter day for us. The mighty (we hope) ATGANI was finally taken out of its container cocoon, processed through customs and then towed to Erina for the fit-out completion.  Impressively, it was attached to a 4×4, the wires were plugged in and the brakes and lights worked – it’s first real life adventure.  Even better, customs found no drugs!

Two days later, Saturday weather was foul but we went to see it anyway.  It is real!  Even though the workmen had taken the keys so we couldn’t get inside, we were able to look around the outside and marvel at the sheer scale of our home-away-from-home.  ATGANI is light grey in colour with all sorts of teal-coloured decals to look smart…and we think it does.  Lots more photos to follow over time but here’s the first glimpse in the pristine working conditions of Kendys at Erina.

ATGANI in the rain

So, reality bites and it’s time for the Grand Plan. Sadly, thanks to deliveries and delays and Covid and a raft of other mishaps, we are now aiming to set off August 1st.  That’s a whole ‘nother month late but we’re still heading West at first, then North through western Queensland, over to the East coast and down to Brisbane by Christmas.  Post Christmas, we head South through NSW, Victoria and even Tassie.  After that it’s Westward-ho, then up the West coast and eventually NT, with the final run down the Centre and back to Sydney.  Here’s the mud map!

The grand plan

And here is the plan by weeks: ATGANI at large

An unreliable estimate of where we might be, and when. Definites are in italics. Find us here or hereabouts, “the good lord willing and the creeks don’t rise”. *A lift in OS travel bans will probably put a 3 month punctuation mark somewhere in the middle of this!
