For years, Lesley and Trevor have thought about doing Australia’s famous Big Lap. The time of our lives has come and so we’ve acquired a caravan and a tug to tow it. We’ve got a route planned and we’re ready to change the plan at any time. August 2021 is now the start time, so we’ll join the many others doing the same thing, often influenced by Covid.

So that friends, family and anyone interested can see what we’re doing, where we’re going and how we’re coping, we’ll tell you about it as we go. The plan as of June ’21 is shown below – let’s see how it works out. We hope we all enjoy the ride!

For those who like some detail, our van is called ATGANI. It’s a 23 feet, off road, club lounge, Torus Kakadu (pretty rich nomenclature as it comes from China! I know, I know…). It’s huge and heavy but supposed to be strong and comfortable. Why it’s called 23′ is anyone’s guess when it’s over 9m from tow-hitch to the spare wheels on the back. Our tug is a 2017 Toyota Landcruiser 200 with suspension mods, silly tyres and, of course, a snorkel. It’s got almost 100K on the clock which will be more like 150K when we’re done. After all, what could possibly go wrong?
